Patara Sila-On Chairperson of S&P Syndicate PCL named "Leading Women Entrepreneurs of the World™ 2006

The Leading Women Entrepreneurs of the World™- a non-profit organization - has chosen Patara Sila-On as one of the honoree for 2006, together with Khunying Sasima Srivikorn and Supalak Ampuj from Thailand and other fifteen ladies from five different continents.

This year gala awards ceremony was held last March in Bangkok and was graciously presided over by Princess Ubolratana.

The Leading Women Entrepreneurs of the World™ award is a significant milestone to recognize and honor the achievements of the top women entrepreneurs around the world through their works.

Here is a brief look at Patara Sila-On life achievement.
Mrs. Patara Sila-On is the chairperson of S&P Syndicate PLC. - a company she started with her sister and sister in laws 32 years ago. S&P, now operating 232 restaurants and bakery outlets, 2 bakery factories, food processing plants and 19 Thai restaurants in five countries, is Thailand largest restaurant chain.

The eldest daughter of Thailand most respectable business tycoon, Patara's strong international education background started when she was thirteen at St. George's school in Switzerland. She furthered her study at Pine Manor Jr. College, Massachusetts, U.S.A., and graduated with B.S in Business Administration from the Boston University. In July 2005, the Pine Manor College bestowed upon her the Honorary Doctor in Letters for her lifetime achievements.

S&P Syndicate PLC. focuses its main operation on the very competitive Thai restaurant and bakery market. The company under Patara's direction, has always emphasized on quality. It received the GMP and HACCP certifications in all its major production facilities as well as the Thailand's Superbrands Award in 2005. The London restaurants, gained the Prime Minister Export Awards in 2005 as the best service provider. Patara's concern over her 4,000 employees has gathered the Good Governance and Best Performance Agro-business award from the Stock Exchange of Thailand.

Patara is active in working for the benefit of the society. S&P annually donated US$ 80,000 in funds and food products to the Thai Red Cross Society, HM the King Chaipattana Foundation, the Foundation for Children and the Siriraj Kidney Foundation. Immediately after the 2004 tsunami, S&P 10,000 bottles of drinking water were the first to reach the distressed area.

Patara is married to Mr. Amaret Sila-On. She has three sons and seven grandchildren.
